Spring Drive 2008 Seven cars set off from Richmond for the Spring Drive on June 1st, our third attempt at holding the event. The weather was somewhat marginal but the rain largely held off and we had a great day. We ran west and north up to Pakenham where we stopped at the waters edge by North America's only 5 arch stone bridge. We then crossed the bridge into Pakenham and stopped to visit their justly famous Village Store. Those Maple Syrup-drenched cinnamon buns are gorgeous - although dangerous for the waistline. From there we ran north on twisty back roads through Waba, White Lake and Burnstown to Renfrew for lunch at the pub in the Rocky Mountain House Inn. After a convivial lunch we headed east to the shores of the Ottawa River and followed the river's edge down into Almonte then on to Dave and Helen Clyne's home where we saw the amazing progress Dave has made on his E-Type rtoration - well done. After a couple of hours of excellent hospitality from our hosts the Jaguars again set sail, this time for the Cheshire Cat pub and the end of the run, although half of us stayed on for supper at the Cat........     If you don't recognize the faces or the cars you haven't been  active enough! © The Ottawa Jaguar Club 2005 All rights Reserved
